Product Description
STEINEL L 910 S in anthracite is an outdoor LED wall light with a motion sensor. It casts light upwards and downwards, illuminating the façade above and below the fitting. The slim aluminium body and opal plastic light covers suit entrances, terraces and modern exterior walls.
Warm white light with an integrated LED system
797 lm and 3000 K warm white light provide comfortable outdoor illumination. The rated 9.8 W is the total luminaire power with its main light on. Ra = 82 describes colour rendering, while SDCM 3 indicates colour consistency. The LED light source is already built in, so no separate bulb is needed.
Light when movement is detected
The 180° PIR sensor detects heat radiated by moving people and animals. Select a reach of up to 5 or 12 m for movement across its field of view; the corresponding reach when approaching directly is up to 2 or 4 m. Positioning the light across the usual walking direction gives the most reliable detection. Walls and glass block heat detection. The optimum installation height is 2.2 m, with a maximum of 2.5 m.
The main light remains on for 2 or 15 minutes after the last detected movement. There are two twilight thresholds: 20 lx starts operation at dusk, while 2 lx requires darker conditions. Sensor standby consumption is 0.30 W; this is separate from the main lighting power.
10% night lighting and settings on the fitting
Optional 10% effect lighting gently illuminates the wall after the selected twilight threshold is reached, even without movement. Choose all-night or half-night operation, or leave this function off. Movement activates the main light at full brightness. Soft light start makes the transition more comfortable.
Six DIP switches on the luminaire select the functions without an app:
- DIP 1: 10% effect lighting off or on.
- DIP 2: enabled effect lighting for all or half the night.
- DIP 3: twilight threshold of 20 or 2 lx.
- DIP 4: main lighting for 2 or 15 minutes.
- DIP 5: test mode with a 5-second light period. Group communication and the 4-hour override are unavailable in this mode.
- DIP 6: 12 or 5 m reach for movement across the sensor.
All switches are OFF when supplied: effect lighting off, 20 lx twilight threshold, 2-minute light period, test off and up to 12 m reach. Compatibility with an external phase-cut dimmer is not specified; the luminaire provides its own automatic lighting functions.
Coordinated lighting for a group
A separate K communication cable can link up to 10 compatible L 910 S and L 930 S lights over a maximum of 50 m. Any sensor in the group can activate all linked lights, while each fitting retains its own DIP settings. This allows several sections of a façade to illuminate together.
K is a communication terminal, not a power output for another light. Never apply voltage or connect an external load to it. The sensorless L 910 cannot join this communication group. This model has no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
For extended lighting, switch the external mains switch OFF and ON twice in quick succession (0.2–1 s switching). This activates a 4-hour manual override, followed by automatic return to sensor mode. One OFF/ON operation cancels it. In an interconnected group, the command is forwarded to the other lights.
Installation, contents and service life
IP44 protects against splashing water; IK03 describes impact resistance. The light is designed for wall mounting and ambient temperatures of −20 to +40 °C. It is 235 mm high, 80 mm wide and projects 86 mm from the wall, with a net weight of 725 g. The aluminium housing and passive LED cooling help dissipate operating heat.
The package contains the luminaire with integrated LED, wall mount, 3 mounting screws, 3 wall plugs, 2 retaining screws and instructions. It accepts a concealed or surface-mounted supply cable. Install it according to the manufacturer instructions.
The manufacturer specifies a rated LED life of more than 60,000 hours (L70B50 at 25 °C). This is a technical lifetime rating, not a guarantee of a particular number of years in service. Both the LED light source and control gear are non-replaceable; the complete fitting must be replaced when the light source reaches the end of its life. A 3-year manufacturer warranty applies under its terms. Clean with a damp cloth without detergents.
Manufacturer documents and drawings
The specified 86 mm projection follows the current drawing; the older shared manual shows 85 mm. Class E and 10 kWh/1000 h follow the energy label linked to this version (EPREL 804909); the shared 2024 manual instead states F. The LED lifetime rating follows the detailed technical table specifying more than 60,000 h; some document icons retain an older 50,000 h figure.
