Product Description
The STEINEL XLED PRO 240 S is an outdoor LED floodlight with motion and twilight sensing for areas around homes or business premises. It combines 19.3 W input, 2124 lm output and warm white 3000 K light with an adjustable LED panel and opal diffuser. Housing colour: white; manufacturer article number: 068073.
Lighting for entrances, courtyards and driveways
- 2124 lm light output with 19.3 W input and an efficacy of 110 lm/W describe the performance of the complete fitting. It is suitable for areas around a home as well as commercial entrances and courtyards.
- The LED panel swivels through 180° horizontally and tilts through 180° vertically. This allows the light to be directed towards the required area. These angles describe panel adjustment, not the light beam angle.
- Warm white 3000 K light and an opal diffuser provide even illumination. CRI 82 describes colour rendering, while SDCM 3 indicates consistency of the LED light colour.
- The HCMC magnesium composite helps dissipate heat from the LED. The manufacturer also specifies UV-resistant plastic components.

Motion detection: 240° and up to 12 m
The passive infrared sensor (PIR) detects changes caused by moving heat sources. It covers 240° and detects movement at up to 12 m across the detection zone or up to 3 m on direct approach. The corresponding 302 m² and 19 m² figures describe sensor coverage, not the illuminated ground area.
Detection directly beneath the sensor is also provided. The sensor unit rotates through 360°, and the supplied shrouds mask unwanted detection sectors. There is no electronic sensitivity adjustment or separate mechanical reach control; the detection zone is adapted by aiming the sensor and fitting the shrouds.
Controls set the twilight threshold from 2 to 2000 lx and the light-on time from 10 seconds to 15 minutes. A lower lux setting allows activation in darker surroundings; daytime mode permits sensor operation in daylight. Each new detected movement restarts the timer. Teach-in is not provided.
Shared wired control of several floodlights
In a master/slave connection, the sensor-switched output of an XLED PRO 240 S also switches the connected sensor-free XLED PRO 240 floodlights. In a master/master connection, the sensors of connected S versions can trigger the group. The manufacturer specifies up to 10 floodlights in this series per wired group.
The additional sensor-switched L′ output permits up to 350 W of LED lighting or electronic ballasts, subject to the manual's limit of 50 connected loads and total capacitance below 132 µF. The stated incandescent and halogen lamp limit is 1000 W. These are the electrical output limits; the XLED PRO 240 group remains limited to 10 floodlights.
The manufacturer lists selectable continuous lighting. There is no Bluetooth or app control. The fitting cannot be dimmed and has no basic-light or soft-start mode.
Installation and supplied components
The fitting is designed for wall mounting outdoors and a 220–240 V, 50–60 Hz mains supply. It accepts a concealed or surface-mounted supply cable. The optimum sensor mounting height is 2 m, with a maximum of 6 m. Plan the detection zone so people move across it. IP44 provides protection against splashing water and solid objects of 1 mm or larger. IK03 describes housing impact resistance; electrical protection class II means double or reinforced insulation. The operating temperature range is −20…+40°C.
The LED light source and control gear are built in and included — no separate bulb is required. The package includes a wall mount and installation materials, together with sensor masking shrouds. Corner bracket 055615 is not included; it is purchased separately for mounting on an outside corner. A qualified professional should make the electrical connection according to the manufacturer wiring diagram.
Service life, energy consumption and warranty
The manufacturer specifies L70B50 >60,000 h at 25°C: under those conditions, at least half of the LEDs are expected to retain at least 70% of their initial light output after the stated operating period. This is an LED lifetime rating, separate from the warranty period.
The integrated light source has energy class E, with an energy-label value of 20 kWh per 1000 operating hours. The complete fitting draws 19.3 W at full output; sensor standby input with the light off is 0.50 W. Actual energy use depends on operating duration. The LED light source and control gear cannot be replaced. The manufacturer specifies a 5-year warranty subject to STEINEL warranty terms.
