Product Description
STEINEL IS 345 is a PIR motion-detector series for lighting control in corridors, passageways and elongated rooms. Its corridor-shaped detection area follows the route people walk. White round and square housings provide a choice of appearance.
Corridor detection
360° PIR detection covers up to 23 × 6 m tangentially and 12 × 6 m radially. The detector is intended for ceiling installation at 2.5–5 m. Individual detection segments can be masked to adapt the area to the room. Actual performance depends on installation height, direction of movement and surrounding obstacles.
Select the interface for the system
COM1 switches lighting through a relay; PF provides a potential-free switching contact. DALI versions work with compatible DALI lighting control, while KNX versions connect to a KNX building-control system. A DALI application controller and a DALI input device are different versions. Their functions and wiring are determined by the complete manufacturer article number.
Power supply depends on the interface: COM1, PF and DALI application-controller versions use a 220–240 V mains supply; KNX versions are powered by the KNX bus. Never connect a KNX detector to 230 V mains. DALI input devices are powered by the DALI bus. COM1 switching-load limits do not apply to KNX or DALI bus control.
Housing and installation
Housing shape does not determine the mounting type. The series includes surface-mounted, concealed-wiring and separate in-ceiling versions. Surface-mounted versions are rated IP54; concealed and in-ceiling versions are rated IP20. Check the mounting dimensions, approved location and protection rating against the exact article. The round housing shown in the product image does not establish the dimensions or electrical connection of other versions.
