Product Description
STEINEL L 115 S is a white outdoor wall light with a mouth-blown crystal glass shade and 240° motion sensor. The clear glass leaves the chosen bulb visible and suits entrances, terraces and building facades. The light switches on when the sensor detects movement and ambient brightness is below the selected twilight threshold.
Replaceable E27 bulb
The fitting has one E27 socket; the manufacturer specifies an incandescent bulb rated at up to 60 W. The manufacturer does not specify a separate maximum LED load. The bulb is not included. Brightness, colour temperature and colour rendering depend on the chosen bulb, so the fitting itself has no fixed lumen or kelvin value. The user can replace the bulb while keeping the luminaire.
Basic light and gradual brightness changes require a compatible dimmable bulb. When choosing an LED bulb, check its compatibility with the luminaire's dimming control. A non-dimmable bulb may flicker when basic light is enabled; the manufacturer's instructions advise changing the bulb or switching off basic light in this case.
Motion sensor and detection area
The 240° PIR sensor detects heat radiation from moving people or animals. Reach is up to 12 m across the detection zone and up to 5 m when approaching directly. Detection is therefore best when the usual direction of travel crosses the sensor's field of view. Walls, glass and other obstacles restrict infrared detection.
The optimum mounting height is 2 m; the specified range is 1.8–6 m. The sensor also detects movement directly below it. The included clip-on shrouds screen out unwanted directions and adjust reach within approximately 1–12 m.
Time and twilight settings
The 5 sec–15 min time setting determines how long the light stays on after the last detected movement. New movement restarts the timer. The 2–1000 lx twilight threshold determines how dark it must be before the sensor switches the light on. Adjust these settings using the controls on the luminaire.
Basic light, soft start and 4-hour override
Basic light can be switched off or set to approximately 10–50%; the manufacturer's overall adjustment range is 0–50%. It provides low-level orientation lighting after dusk and rises to full brightness when movement is detected. Use a dimmable bulb for this function.
Soft light start raises brightness to 100% in approximately one second; switch-off is also gradual. The 4-hour manual override is useful when spending longer outside. Activate it with two quick off/on operations of a switch in the mains supply, as shown in the manual. Sensor operation resumes after four hours. This function requires a switch in the supply circuit.
Housing for outdoor use
The mouth-blown crystal glass shade is combined with a UV-resistant plastic housing. IP44 protects against water splashes and solid objects of at least 1 mm. IK03 describes tested resistance to mechanical impact. The light is designed for mounting on an outdoor wall.

Dimensions 257 × 215 × 330 mm (depth × width × height), net weight 1103 g. Supply 230–240 V AC, 50–60 Hz. Electrical protection class II means double or reinforced insulation. The cable can enter from the wall or run along its surface; connect it following the instructions for this model. Operating temperature −20 to +50 °C.
Sensor standby consumption is 0.7 W, additional to the chosen bulb's consumption when lit. Bluetooth, app and remote control are not provided; manufacturer-supported light interconnection is not available.
The package contains one luminaire, mounting accessories, sensor masking parts and instructions. The E27 bulb is sold separately. Clean the sensor lens with a slightly damp cloth without detergents. 3-year manufacturer warranty under its terms.
