Product Description
STEINEL L 42 C is an anthracite outdoor LED wall light for entrances, facades, terraces and balconies. Its vertical aluminium housing and opal plastic diffuser provide even, warm white 3000 K light. This C version supports Bluetooth control and operation with a compatible sensor light. It has no motion sensor of its own.
Light for everyday use
871 lm luminous flux and 12.6 W power consumption describe the built-in STEINEL LED system; no separate bulb is needed. Luminous flux indicates how much visible light the fitting emits, while 3000 K describes its warm white light colour. The Ra 82 colour-rendering index helps maintain a natural appearance of doors, facade finishes and surrounding objects.
Main light brightness is adjustable from 5–100% in the STEINEL Connect app. Soft light start lets the illumination increase gradually. The 5–100% basic light function requires an SC sensor luminaire, such as L 42 SC. It coordinates orientation lighting with the sensor-controlled group.
Bluetooth control and lighting groups
Use the STEINEL Connect app on a smartphone or tablet to configure operation and connect compatible lights through Bluetooth Mesh. For automatic motion-triggered operation, group L 42 C with a compatible STEINEL Bluetooth sensor light. The C light by itself does not detect movement. Master/master and master/slave interconnection are supported.
Create lighting groups and schedules, use the neighbouring-group function and adjust fade-in and fade-out times. A permanent light mode is selectable. Settings and the operating state are retained through a power interruption and restored when power returns.
Housing and outdoor protection
IP54 provides protection against water splashes and harmful dust ingress, making the light suitable for outdoor wall mounting. The aluminium housing is combined with an opal plastic diffuser. This product is the anthracite variant. IK03 describes tested resistance to mechanical impact.

Dimensions and connection
Dimensions 105 × 131 × 274 mm (depth × width × height), net weight 1012 g. Designed for wall mounting with a concealed or surface-mounted supply lead, with a 220–240 V AC, 50–60 Hz supply. Electrical protection class I requires a protective earth connection. Bluetooth provides control signals; the light still needs a mains power connection. Follow the installation instructions for this model with the power disconnected. Operating temperature −20 to +40 °C.
LED system and additional functions
The LED module and control gear cannot be replaced. Rated LED lifetime is more than 60,000 hours, L70B50 at 25 °C; the stated average rated control gear lifetime at 25 °C also exceeds 60,000 hours. L70B50 describes lumen maintenance under defined test conditions, rather than the warranty period. Luminous efficacy is 69.1 lm/W, with initial colour consistency of SDCM 6. Energy class E and 13 kWh/1000 h apply to the integrated LED light source energy label.
Network standby power is 0.44 W. Bluetooth transmitter power is 1 mW. Observe the manufacturer’s specified minimum distance of 3 m from a Wi-Fi router or access point.
