STEINEL L 830 C Cubo is a compact anthracite outdoor wall light without sensor with a cube-shaped housing and opal diffuser. Up & Down light emission highlights the façade above and below the fitting. It suits entrances, façades, terraces and circulation areas around a building. Its integrated LED system produces 493 lm at 9.1 W, with 3000 K warm-white light. Bluetooth Mesh and the STEINEL Connect app provide control and grouping with compatible lights. C version: Bluetooth control without its own sensor
L 830 C has no built-in motion sensor or photocell. It can be controlled and dimmed in the app and included in a Bluetooth group. Automatic response to movement and sensor-controlled basic light require a compatible STEINEL Bluetooth sensor light in the group, such as L 830 SC.
This is useful for a row of matching wall lights: a sensor version detects people approaching at the chosen location, while the C version lights another part of the façade in response to the group command. The C light itself has no detection angle or reach. Motion, twilight and basic-light automation depend on the sensor selected for the group.
Lighting settings and grouping
- Adjustable main light: choose 10–100% brightness or switch the light off.
- Bluetooth Mesh: combine compatible lights into groups and control them from a smartphone or tablet.
- Scenes and schedules: configure lighting for everyday routines in the app.
- Continuous light: a permanent-light mode can be selected.
- Sensor-controlled basic light: available with a compatible Bluetooth sensor light; the C model has no photocell of its own.
The light still needs a mains supply: Bluetooth carries control signals, not electrical power. Brightness is adjusted through the light’s built-in app control.
Light quality and LED lifetime ratings
493 lm is the complete luminaire’s light output, while 54 lm/W is its luminous efficacy. 3000 K means warm-white light. CRI / Ra 82 describes colour rendering and SDCM 3 the initial consistency of the light colour. LEDs are cooled using the passive Passive Thermo Control system.
The manufacturer specifies L70B50 lifetime above 60,000 hours at 25°C and 50,000 hours at the maximum operating temperature. L70B50 is a statistical lumen-maintenance rating: at the end of the stated period, at least half the evaluated light sources retain at least 70% of their initial output. It is not a guarantee of every light’s operating life or a warranty period.
The integrated light source has energy-efficiency class F and a label value of 10 kWh/1000 h (LS-0021, EPREL 804393). The luminaire’s 9.1 W input and the energy-label value are different manufacturer-specified ratings.
Installation, protection and contents
Mount the light on an outdoor wall and connect it to a 220–240 V, 50–60 Hz mains supply. A surface-mounted supply cable can be used. The housing is UV-resistant plastic and the diffuser is opal plastic. IP44 provides protection against solid objects of 1 mm or larger and splashing water; IK03 is the impact-resistance rating. Electrical protection class II means double or reinforced insulation. Operating temperature is −20…+40°C.
Dimensions are 132 × 110 × 110 mm (depth × width × height); the technical drawing gives the exact depth as 131.5 mm. The package contains one light with an integrated LED system and control gear, 3 screws, 3 wall plugs and 3 spacers. No separate bulb is needed. The LED light source and control gear cannot be replaced. A remote control and house-number stickers are not included. The manufacturer warranty is 3 years, subject to STEINEL terms.
The instructions require at least 3 m clearance from a Wi-Fi router or access point. This C model has no iHF sensor of its own and can be grouped with a suitably positioned SC sensor light.
