Product Description
The STEINEL XLED PRO Expanse SC is a Professional Line outdoor LED sensor floodlight with Bluetooth control for courtyards, driveways, entrances and areas around buildings. Three LED light surfaces in one adjustable head provide broad panoramic illumination. It delivers 1642 lm of warm white 3000 K light with 15.1 W input. Housing colour: anthracite; article number: 093938.
Wide illumination with adjustable direction
- Three light surfaces distribute light across the surrounding area. This also suits gardens, terraces, balconies and warehouse approaches.
- The LED head swivels through 180° horizontally and tilts through 180° vertically. It can be locked in the chosen position. The complete head with its three light surfaces is adjusted to direct illumination where it is needed.
- 1642 lm and 109 lm/W describe the output and efficacy of the complete fitting. Its 3000 K light has a warm white colour.
- CRI/Ra 82 describes colour rendering, R9 = 18 describes saturated red rendering and SDCM 3 indicates initial light-colour consistency.

270° sensing and Eagle Eye direct-approach detection
The passive infrared sensor (PIR) has 442 switching zones and covers 270°. Maximum reach is 12.5 m across the detection zone (368 m²), or 6 m on direct approach (85 m²). Eagle Eye improves detection when someone walks towards the fitting, which is useful on a path leading directly to it. The stated areas describe detection coverage, not illuminated ground area.
Electronic reach adjustment and masking of unwanted sectors are supported. Detection directly beneath the sensor is also provided; there is no separate mechanical reach control.
Bluetooth Mesh and the STEINEL Connect app
The free STEINEL Connect app on a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet handles initial setup and control. Set the light-on time from 5 seconds to 60 minutes and the twilight threshold from 2 to 2000 lx. Teach-in saves the current ambient brightness as the switching threshold. Each new detected movement restarts the timer.
Bluetooth Mesh enables groups of compatible fittings without a separate control cable between them; each fitting still requires a mains connection. Master/master and sensor/slave operation are supported, including a selectable slave mode. The app provides timer programmes and periods of continuous lighting, with integration of compatible wireless push buttons purchased separately.
Reconnect to the fitting in the app after a power interruption so its internal clock synchronises with your phone and timer programmes run at the intended times. To add another phone for control, share the Bluetooth network access key with that device.
The standard XLED PRO Expanse version without a sensor is not a Bluetooth receiver. It is intended for wired control. The SC version has no basic-light or soft-start mode; main-light brightness is not adjustable and an external dimmer must not be used.
The sensor unit rotates through 360°; this is its mechanical adjustment range, separate from the motion detection angle. Factory settings are 5 seconds and daytime mode (2000 lx). After the light switches off, it takes approximately one second before motion detection resumes.
Installation, protection and supplied components
The floodlight is designed for outdoor wall mounting and a 220–240 V, 50–60 Hz mains supply. The supply cable may be concealed or surface-mounted. IP54 provides protection against harmful dust ingress and splashing water. IK03 describes housing impact resistance; electrical protection class II means double or reinforced insulation. The manufacturer specifies a supply current of 80 mA. The housing is polycarbonate, with an operating temperature range of −20…+40°C.
The optimum sensor mounting height is 2 m, with a maximum of 6 m. Choose a position without walls, trees or other obstacles blocking detection; movement across the detection zone is generally detected more reliably.
The LED light source and control gear are integrated and included — no separate bulb is required. The package includes the wall mount, cable seals and sensor masking pieces. Corner bracket 053086 is not included; it is purchased separately for installation on an outside corner. Disconnect the power before installation; a qualified professional should make the electrical connection and follow the manufacturer instructions. Adjust the head only once the fitting has cooled down.
Service life, energy and warranty
L70B50 >60,000 h at 25°C describes LED life: under these conditions, at least half of the LEDs are expected to retain at least 70% of their initial light output after the stated operating period. This is separate from the warranty period. The integrated light source has energy class F; the energy-label value is 16 kWh/1000 h. Actual energy use depends on operating duration.
The manufacturer specifies 0.50 W in sensor standby (Psb) and 0.50 W in network standby (Pnet). These describe separate modes and are not added together as a 1 W total.
The LED light source and control gear cannot be replaced. The manufacturer specifies a 5-year warranty subject to STEINEL warranty terms.
Clean the sensor lens with a lightly dampened cloth without cleaning agents. Rapid temperature changes, wind or precipitation may cause unwanted switching, so careful positioning and detection-zone adjustment matter.
