Product Description
STEINEL XSolar L-S Pro in anthracite is a solar-powered outdoor wall light with a motion sensor, adjustable LED panel and rechargeable battery. It suits an entrance, garden wall, terrace or path where mains power is unavailable. This version also allows the solar panel and light to be installed separately, using the included 6 m connecting cable.
This is the Professional Line model, SKU 085698, with a 5-year manufacturer warranty subject to its terms. It is distinct from the anthracite XSolar L-S ONE, SKU 081973.
Warm white light without mains wiring
150 lm and 3000 K warm white light provide orientation at an entrance or in a small outdoor area. STEINEL specifies illumination of up to approximately 30 m²; the result depends on mounting height and aiming. The LED lighting is rated at 1.2 W. Six integrated LEDs are already included, so no separate bulb is required.
CRI 80–89 describes colour rendering. The declared LED life is 50,000 hours to L70B10. This is an LED lifetime rating, not operating time from one battery charge. The LED module is not replaceable; the rechargeable battery can be replaced by a qualified specialist.
140° motion detection and three operating programmes
The passive infrared (PIR) sensor detects moving heat sources such as people and animals across 140°. Reach is up to 8 m across the detection zone or up to 2 m on direct approach. Close-range detection beneath the sensor is also provided. Its view must remain clear: PIR detection does not work through glass or walls. The manual illustrates the stated reach at 1.8 m mounting height; maximum mounting height is 2 m.
Select one of three programmes on the light: P0 — off; P1 — motion-activated light only; P2 — motion sensor with approximately 3% basic light. In P2, movement switches the LEDs to full output, followed by a return to the dim basic-light level. The controller adapts the duration of basic lighting to available energy and ambient conditions.
The twilight threshold is 2 lx, so automatic lighting is enabled in dark conditions. The light remains on for approximately 10–60 seconds after detection, with timing adapted automatically by the software. There is no user-adjustable time or lux dial. The factory setting is P0; select P1 or P2 after installation. A one-minute initial test mode lets you check detection in daylight.
Aim the panel at the sun and the light where needed
The monocrystalline solar panel charges the battery during daylight. It turns +180°/−150° and tilts 55°; a built-in compass helps orient it south. The LED panel turns ±60° and tilts 55° to aim the light and sensor towards the entrance or path. Choose a position with prolonged direct sunlight and avoid shadows from trees, roof overhangs and nearby structures.
The included 6 m connecting lead allows separate mounting of the LED light and solar panel. This is useful when light is needed under an overhang but a sunny panel position is available nearby. Separate-mounting parts are included; route the cable securely as shown in the instructions.
Rechargeable battery and Micro-USB backup charging
An included LiFePO₄ rechargeable battery stores the solar energy. The current exact-EAN datasheets specify 2500 mAh; a differing value in the shared series manual is explained below. Battery replacement is for the manufacturer or a qualified electrician.
During prolonged poor sunlight, use the Micro-USB 5 V input, up to 1 A for supplementary charging. This can take up to 6 hours; a USB power adapter and USB cable are not included. The socket charges the light, rather than providing an output for a phone. An open USB socket is not protected against water, so charge only in a dry indoor location.
A flashing red LED indicates low battery or charging in progress. With a charger connected, a continuously lit red LED indicates a full charge. A deeply discharged battery may take approximately 10 minutes before the charging LED starts flashing.
Winter operation and care
The stated operating temperature is −20…+40°C. The current datasheet for this XSolar L-S version specifies battery operation and solar charging from −20°C. A temperature rating alone does not ensure sufficient solar energy.
Short winter days, shade, snow on the panel and frequent activation reduce available lighting time. Continuous all-night lighting in a Latvian winter is not guaranteed. During less sunny periods, P1 without basic lighting helps conserve the charge. Keep the panel clean with a soft cloth and a mild, surface-compatible cleaner. Before extended storage, select P0 and fully charge the battery; recharge it periodically while stored.
Housing and package contents
The plastic housing provides IP44 splash protection and IK03 impact resistance. Electrical protection class III means operation from a safety extra-low-voltage supply; no 230 V mains cable is required at the light. Overall dimensions are 187 × 189 × 298 mm (depth × width × height).
Included are the luminaire with integrated LEDs, solar panel and rechargeable battery, wall bracket, mounting screws and wall plugs, instructions and separate-mounting parts with the 6 m cable. The manufacturer warranty is 5 years, subject to the warranty terms.
Manufacturer data clarification
This card uses 2500 mAh because that is the capacity in the current German and English datasheets for EAN 4007841085698. The shared XSolar L-S manual lists 3000 mAh. The battery capacity of a specific delivery can be checked against its product marking. The exact article datasheet specifies an automatic ON time of 10–60 s; the shared series manual lists 10–30 s.
