Product Description
STEINEL GL 65 S is an anthracite LED garden bollard with sensor for paths, gardens and driveways. Its integrated LED delivers 575 lm at 8.7 W, with a fixed 3000 K warm-white light colour. Article 069476; EAN 4007841069476.
PIR detection and lighting modes
The 180° passive infrared sensor detects changing heat patterns caused by movement. Reach is up to 8 m tangentially and 6 m on direct approach, measured from the sensor. These figures do not describe the illuminated path length. Movement direction, ambient temperature and obstructions affect detection.
- 10–2000 lx: adjustable ambient-light threshold.
- 5 s–15 min: adjustable delay after the last movement.
- 10% basic light: low-level orientation lighting, rising to full output when movement is detected.
- Four programmes: selected using the luminaire controls; Nightmatic provides dusk-to-dawn operation.
- 4 h continuous light and a gradual soft light start support comfortable evening use.
GL 65 S works independently; this article has no Bluetooth, app control or wireless lighting groups.
Light quality and service life
575 lm is the complete luminaire’s luminous flux; 66 lm/W is its efficacy. CRI / Ra 80 describes colour rendering. The opal glass spreads the light evenly. LED cooling uses the passive Passive Thermo Control system.
The manufacturer specifies more than 36,000 h (L70B50, 25°C) for the LED. This is a statistical lumen-maintenance figure, not a fixed time at which the LED stops working. These figures are not warranty periods.
The built-in LS-0130 light source carries energy class E and a label value of 9 kWh/1000 h; EPREL reference 1236569. The energy label applies to the light source. The LED is included and is not a user-replaceable bulb.
Installation and package contents
Mount the bollard on a firm outdoor base beside a path or in a courtyard. Height is 770 mm and maximum base/luminaire diameter is 180 mm. The aluminium body and opal glass provide even, soft light. Supply: 220–240 V, 50–60 Hz; Class I requires protective earth (PE).
IP44 protects against solid objects larger than 1 mm and splashing water. The light must not be submerged or installed where water collects. IK03 indicates impact resistance; operating range is −20…+40°C.
The package contains one bollard luminaire with integrated LED and mounting accessories. No separate bulb is required. Prepare a suitable base and mains connection for the installation site.

Choosing between four programmes
- Standard: motion-triggered lighting without basic light.
- Economy comfort: 10% basic light until the calculated middle of the night, with full output on movement.
- Comfort: 10% basic light during darkness, rising to full output on movement.
- Nightmatic: full light below the selected brightness threshold, without waiting for movement.
The middle of the night is estimated from the length of darkness; the light has no clock. Keep the power connected for the economy programme to adapt over several nights. Initial light-colour consistency: SDCM 6.
