Product Description
STEINEL RS 16 L S is a white wall and ceiling light with a concealed 360° HF motion sensor and an E27 socket. It suits corridors, stairwells, utility rooms and washrooms where lighting should switch on when someone enters. The hand-blown opal glass shade diffuses the light, while the simple round shape fits practical interiors.
Choose the light with a replaceable bulb
The fitting takes one E27 bulb, sold separately. Its stated maximum incandescent lamp load is 60 W; a suitable E27 LED bulb may also be used. Luminous flux, colour temperature and energy efficiency depend on the bulb chosen. A bayonet fixing allows the glass shade to be removed for bulb replacement without undoing shade-fixing screws.
A concealed sensor with adjustable coverage
The 5.8 GHz HF sensor detects movement around the light. Detection diameter adjusts from Ø3–8 m: 8 m is the diameter, not the radius. Radar detection can also work through glass, wood and lightweight partitions, so sensitivity should be adjusted to the room.
Potentiometers set the 5-second to 15-minute switch-off delay after the last movement and the 2–2000 lx ambient-light threshold. The delay determines when the light switches off; the twilight setting determines how dark the surroundings must be for automatic activation. No app or remote control is required. Several lights can be interconnected by cable for simultaneous switching, following the manufacturer's wiring diagram and load limits.
Installation and supplied items
The fitting is for surface mounting on a wall or ceiling. Its current drawing gives Ø273 × 95 mm; the manufacturer's technical table lists a nominal diameter of 275 mm. IP44 provides protection against water splashes, while class II denotes double insulation. One light and mounting accessories are supplied; a bulb is not included.
The sensor's 1.1 W power consumption is separate from bulb wattage. Likewise, the additional switching-output rating must not be confused with the E27 socket's 60 W lamp limit. Wiring diagrams and the complete technical documentation are linked below.
