Product Description
STEINEL RS 16 S PMMA is a white indoor LED light with a UV-resistant opal plastic cover and an integrated motion sensor. Weighing approximately 400 g, it suits corridors, stairwells, utility rooms and washrooms. Its LED delivers 958 lm at 9.5 W; the fixed 4000 K neutral-white light colour provides clear, practical illumination.
A lightweight PMMA version
PMMA is an acrylic plastic that diffuses the light while keeping the fitting light in weight. This article has a 4000 K light colour and measures Ø276 × 105 mm. RS 16 S Glass is a separate article with a glass cover, warm-white light and different dimensions. Each version has its own product card.
Motion detection and night-time basic light
The concealed 360° HF sensor uses 5.8 GHz technology. Its detection diameter adjusts from Ø3–8 m, covering up to 50 m². Detection can work through glass, wood and lightweight partitions, so sensitivity should be matched to the room. The manufacturer recommends at least 3 m separation from Wi-Fi routers and access points.
Potentiometers set a 5-second to 15-minute delay after the last movement and a 2–2000 lx ambient-light threshold. Optional 10% basic light can remain on for 10 minutes, 30 minutes or all night. A 4-hour continuous-light mode is also available. Several lights can be connected by cable for simultaneous switching.
Installation and LED system
The fitting mounts on the surface of a wall or ceiling. IP44 denotes splash protection, IK03 impact resistance and electrical class II double insulation. LED colour rendering is Ra 82, and stated life exceeds 60,000 h at L70B50 and 25 °C.
One light with its LED system and mounting accessories is supplied. No separate bulb is required; the LED is not user-replaceable. Do not connect an external dimmer. Sensor standby consumption is approximately 0.4 W. Application photos illustrate the RS 16 family; this article's light colour is 4000 K.
