Product Description
STEINEL XLED Protect S in anthracite is an adjustable outdoor LED floodlight with three light-emitting surfaces. Its front and side lighting creates a broad panoramic spread for an entrance, courtyard, driveway or terrace. The integrated motion sensor switches the light on when movement is detected and ambient brightness meets the selected twilight setting.
Broad lighting with an adjustable direction
The fitting delivers 1642 lm of 3000 K warm white light. Lumens describe the total light output, while the warm tone suits the surroundings of a home. Total luminaire input at full output is 14.3 W. The head swivels 180° horizontally and tilts 180° vertically and can be locked in the chosen position. Side light surfaces help illuminate the areas beside the fitting.
The CRI / Ra 82 colour-rendering index describes how object colours appear; STEINEL also specifies R9 18 for red colour rendering. Complete-product efficacy is 115 lm/W. The manual specifies SDCM 3 for initial light colour consistency. Declared LED life is over 60,000 hours, L70B50 at 25°C. This describes lumen maintenance under stated test conditions, rather than a warranty period.
180° motion detection with local controls
The passive infrared (PIR) sensor covers 180° and responds to moving heat sources such as people and animals. Reach is up to 10 m across the detection zone; the exact article datasheet specifies up to 3 m on direct approach. The optimum mounting height is 2 m, with a maximum of 4 m. Position the sensor across the usual walking direction for the best detection. Movement cannot be detected through glass or walls.
The sensor unit swivels 180° horizontally and tilts 90° vertically to align the detection area. Supplied masking stickers can restrict unwanted detection. There is no dedicated sneak-by detection zone directly beneath the sensor or electronic reach adjustment.
Controls on the fitting set an ON time of 5 seconds–35 minutes and a twilight threshold of 2–1000 lx. The timer runs from the last detected movement. A lower lux threshold restricts activation to darker conditions; the daylight setting is useful for a function test. This standard version is not a stand-alone dusk-to-dawn switch: motion is required to trigger the light.
Standby consumption with the light off is 0.5 W. This standard S version has no Bluetooth, group interconnection or manual permanent-light override. It also has no dimmed basic-light mode, Teach setting or soft start.
Integrated LED lighting is included
The LED light source is already built in and included. No separate bulb is needed. Neither the light source nor its control gear is intended for replacement. The light is not dimmable and is not designed for an external dimmer. The manufacturer energy label declares class E and 15 kWh/1000 h, registered as EPREL 2104644. The rounded label consumption is a different figure from the precise luminaire input power in watts.
Outdoor wall installation
IP54 provides protection against harmful dust ingress and splashing water. IK03 identifies the tested mechanical impact-resistance level. An opal plastic diffuser spreads the light; the construction is intended for outdoor conditions and UV exposure. The operating ambient range is −20 to +40°C.
Mount the fitting on an outdoor wall in the position shown by STEINEL. Mounting on a building corner requires a compatible STEINEL corner bracket, purchased separately. Dimensions are 195 × 195 × 187 mm (depth × width × height) and the net weight is 630 g. Supply: 220–240 V AC, 50–60 Hz; electrical Class II. Double insulation means the fitting itself does not require a protective-earth connection. The manual requires at least 3 m clearance from Wi-Fi routers or access points. Have a qualified installer connect it according to the manufacturer wiring diagram.
Package contents and care
Included: luminaire with integrated LED, wall mounting bracket, installation accessories and instructions; the sensor version also includes detection-area masking stickers. A corner bracket is not included. Clean surfaces with a slightly damp cloth without detergents. STEINEL provides a 5-year manufacturer warranty subject to its terms.
