Product Description
STEINEL HF 360 AP is a surface-mounted sensor switch for automatic indoor lighting. Its compact grey housing suits stairways, basement passages and utility rooms where light should turn on as someone enters. The built-in button also offers manual lighting, making the switch useful when a task keeps you in one place for longer.
Radar detection matched to the room
The 5.8 GHz high-frequency sensor detects movement through changes in the reflected signal. Detection does not depend on a temperature difference between a person's body and the surrounding air. STEINEL specifies 360° detection with a 140° aperture and an adjustable 1–8 m reach. Radar can also detect movement through glass and thin partitions; adjust the reach to the layout so that movement in the intended area controls the light.
Automatic operation with manual control
Reach, twilight threshold and time controls are protected behind the screw-fixed front cover. Set the light-on period from 10 seconds to 30 minutes and choose a 2–2000 lx twilight threshold. Pressing the built-in button provides a four-hour lighting override, after which automatic sensor operation resumes. The same button can select permanent OFF. A red indicator LED shows the manual operating mode.
Choose a compatible lighting load
The switch is intended for indoor wall mounting and a 230–240 V mains connection using L, switched L′ and N. Its IP54 enclosure provides splash protection. The resistive-load rating is 1000 W; the older exact data sheet gives a 500 W fluorescent-load rating. For LEDs and electronic ballasts, observe the manufacturer's limits: a minimum 20 W load, no more than four lamps and a combined capacitance of up to 88 μF. The 1000 W resistive rating is not an LED power rating.
