Product Description
STEINEL MD IR D180 COM1 is a flat, digitally adjustable motion detector with an anthracite housing and a discreet integrated lens. Its straight lines suit a modern entrance, while 180° PIR detection switches connected lighting when movement enters the monitored area. Previously called IS 180 digi HD, this model retains the same manufacturer article number, 066079. It is intended for entrances, driveways and circulation routes where automatic light control makes everyday access more convenient.
Coverage shaped around the location
The detector reaches up to 9 m for movement across its field and up to 6 m for an approach towards it. These figures are radii, not diameters. The detection field is divided into nine digitally adjustable zones. Five pyro sensors form near and distant detection zones, allowing coverage to follow the approach route. Disabling a near zone is linked to the corresponding distant-zone setting. PIR technology responds to heat from moving objects; walls and glass block its view rather than extending detection into the space behind them.
Settings from your phone
The STEINEL Connect app adjusts sensitivity, sets the stay-on time from 5 seconds to 60 minutes and selects an ambient-light threshold of 2–1000 lx. Teach mode stores the preferred surrounding light level, while test mode helps check coverage during commissioning. Bluetooth Mesh connects the sensor with compatible devices so that lighting at several approach points can work together. Configuration requires a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet.
A compact wall-mounted fitting
A 116 × 116 mm front face and 42 mm projection keep the detector unobtrusive against the facade. Its IP54 construction is suitable for outdoor and indoor use. The recommended mounting height is 2 m, within a permitted range of 1.8–2.5 m. The relay output controls a connected light, so the load must be selected for the lamp type. Incandescent and halogen loads may total up to 2000 W; the separate LED limits are listed in the technical attributes. This model does not provide main-light dimming or basic lighting. It carries a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
