Product Description
STEINEL MD IR N270 uDIM is a wall-mounted motion detector with a white RAL 9010 housing, combining broad 270° PIR coverage with dimming for connected lighting. It suits an entrance, facade corner or driveway where bright light is useful during movement and a lower orientation level is welcome between visits. The compact housing remains discreet, while the sensor lens can be adjusted to the direction from which people approach.
Eagle Eye for a selected approach route
Movement across the detection field is picked up within a 12.5 m radius. Standard radial reach is 2.7 m; the selected Eagle Eye direction extends frontal detection to 6 m. Turning the special lens window aims this extended coverage towards a doorway or footpath. Supplied cover clips restrict unwanted directions, and the sensitivity of the three PIR elements can be adjusted individually in the app.
uDIM adds control to conventional lighting
The integrated leading or trailing edge phase dimmer is intended for compatible dimmable light sources. Main-light and basic-light levels are individually adjustable from 5% to 100%, with a smooth fading time of 1–3 seconds. The supported LED load is 5–100 W at a power factor of 0.9. Different load categories listed separately in the manual must not be mixed on the same output. The selected lamp or driver must also be compatible with this dimming method.
Connected control and practical installation
STEINEL Connect and Bluetooth Mesh provide grouping, neighbouring-group operation, sensitivity adjustment and twilight settings. The stay-on time ranges from 5 seconds to 60 minutes, and the light threshold from 2 to 2000 lx. Teach mode stores the ambient brightness at which detection should become active. The IP54 sensor is suitable for indoor and outdoor wall mounting and includes a bracket for an inside or outside corner. Its recommended mounting height is 2.5 m within the permitted 1.8–6 m range. It operates from a 220–240 V supply and carries a five-year manufacturer's warranty.
