Product Description
STEINEL IS 360-3 is a white surface-mounted ceiling motion detector for automatic lighting indoors and outdoors. Its 360° detection field covers up to Ø24 m when a person moves across the sensor field. Passive infrared technology responds to heat from moving bodies; the light sensor lets you set the ambient brightness at which the lighting may switch on. Article 006532, EAN 4007841006532.

Understanding the detection range
- Tangential reach up to Ø24 m (452 m²). This is the full detection diameter, equivalent to a radius of 12 m from the sensor.
- Direct approach: Ø6 m (28 m²). The direction of movement affects detection significantly.
- 972 optical switching zones and sneak-by protection cover the monitored area, including directly below the sensor. They are not separate lighting-control channels.
Coverage is 360° horizontally, with a vertical aperture angle of 90°. Supplied shrouds mask unwanted areas such as a neighbouring path or road. There is no electronic or mechanical reach adjustment. PIR cannot detect through walls or glass and is not intended to detect a completely motionless person. Maximum coverage must not be assumed at every mounting height.
Mounting and housing
The mounting base attaches to the ceiling surface; overall dimensions are Ø121 × 57 mm. Suitable locations include canopies, carports, entrances and passageways requiring wide detection coverage. The optimum mounting height is 2.8 m; the current technical table specifies a 2.5–6 m range.
The housing is UV-resistant plastic. Net weight: 177 g. IP54 means protection against harmful dust ingress and splashing water; follow the manufacturer’s mounting and cable-sealing requirements. Operating temperature: −20…+50°C. Electrical protection class II means double insulation. Keep the sensor’s view clear; nearby heat sources or moving branches may cause unwanted triggering.
Relay and switching loads
The detector switches one lighting circuit on and off. It requires live L and neutral N; the output supplies switched mains live to the light. It is not a potential-free control contact. Supply: 220–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz.

Each LED power limit is the combined load for that lamp category. Lamp-count, capacitance and driver inrush-current limits also apply. Do not use the resistive rating as an LED rating. This table uses the current STEINEL data sheet for this exact article.
Settings and everyday control
- 5 s–15 min: the light switches off after the selected delay from the last detected movement. Further movement restarts the timer.
- 2–1000 lx: a potentiometer sets the ambient-light threshold. There is no Teach-in function.
- No app required: both settings are on the detector. Bluetooth and remote controls are not supported.
- On/off switching: no dimming, background-light or constant-light control.
Four-hour manual override: rapidly switch a correctly connected mains switch off and on twice, following the interval in the instructions. Sensor operation resumes after four hours; the instructions also explain how to restore it earlier.
Wired Master/Master interconnection is supported. This is not a wireless network and does not increase the permitted load on an individual output.
Supplied items, warranty and documents
Supplied with one detector, shrouds and mounting parts including a ceiling mounting base. The controlled light and external switch are sold separately. Manufacturer warranty: 3 years, subject to STEINEL terms.
