Product Description
STEINEL L 1 S is a black outdoor wall light with an E27 socket and opal plastic diffuser. Its compact rectangular shape takes up little space beside a door. It suits entrances, terraces, balconies and paths alongside a building. The integrated 180° motion sensor switches the light on when it detects movement and ambient brightness is below the chosen twilight threshold.
House number beside the entrance
A sheet of self-adhesive house-number characters is included. Apply the number to the opal cover to combine entrance lighting with a house-number sign.
Choose your own bulb and light colour
One E27 bulb is sold separately and can be replaced by the user. The manufacturer permits an incandescent bulb up to 60 W or an LED or compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb up to 20 W. For an LED bulb, observe its actual wattage rather than the equivalent incandescent wattage printed on its packaging.
Luminous flux, colour temperature and colour rendering depend on the chosen bulb. You can therefore adapt brightness and light colour to an entrance or seating area. The fitting without a bulb has no fixed lumen or kelvin value, and replacing the bulb does not require replacing the luminaire.
Motion detection and adjustment
The 180° PIR sensor responds to heat radiation from moving people or animals. Reach is up to 10 m across the detection zone and up to 3 m when approaching directly. The corresponding detection areas specified by the manufacturer are 157 m² and 14 m². Position the light to the side of the usual direction of travel for the best detection. The specified optimum mounting height is 2 m, with a maximum of 3 m.
The 5 sec–35 min time setting determines how long the light stays on after the last detected movement; a new detection restarts the timer. The 2–1000 lx twilight threshold determines how dark it must be before the sensor is allowed to switch the light on. Both settings are adjusted using controls on the light.
The sensor can be tilted vertically through 90° to adjust detection reach within approximately 2–10 m. The included masking stickers screen out unwanted detection directions, such as a nearby pavement or neighbouring property. A sneak-by guard also detects movement directly below the light. Walls, glass and other obstacles restrict PIR detection of heat radiation.
Housing for an outdoor wall
The UV-resistant plastic housing is combined with an opal plastic diffuser. IP44 provides protection against water splashes and solid objects of at least 1 mm, useful for a light mounted on an outdoor wall. IK07 describes tested resistance to mechanical impact.

Sensor operation
Sensor standby power is 0.55 W; this is separate from the connected bulb wattage. Each light operates with its own sensor; shared sensor control is not provided. There is no Bluetooth or app control. Remote control is not provided. A basic light level between detections is not provided.

One luminaire with motion sensor, mounting accessories and instructions, plus sensor masking stickers and a self-adhesive house-number sheet. The E27 bulb is not included. Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth without aggressive cleaning agents. 3-year manufacturer warranty under its terms.
