Product Description
STEINEL XLED CAM2 SC combines an outdoor LED floodlight, motion detector, camera and intercom in one anthracite fitting. Designed for mounting on exterior walls, it suits an entrance, driveway or courtyard. The aluminium housing and swivelling LED panel allow the lighting direction to be adjusted to the chosen location. This is a useful option when automatic lighting and an app view of visitors are wanted at the same point on the building. Position both the camera and the light so that the view covers the intended property and the illumination does not dazzle people approaching the door. The fitting can supplement home monitoring, but it is not a replacement for a certified alarm system.
A 21 W LED source producing 2310 lm at 3000 K provides warm white light around the house and supports the camera's view of the area. The integrated 180° passive infrared motion sensor switches the lighting automatically. The specified maximum tangential reach is 10 m; movement directly towards the sensor is detected over a shorter distance. STEINEL lists 2 m as both the optimum and maximum mounting height for this version. Set the detection range around the actual approach area, since the direction of movement, obstacles and temperature changes affect detection. When choosing a position beneath an eave or on a facade, check the camera view and lighting direction together rather than relying solely on the largest stated reach.
The STEINEL CAM App 2 provides a camera view, notifications and access to the integrated two-way intercom. The current manufacturer's product information specifies video quality up to 2K and on-device person recognition. A wide-angle camera can be positioned using its swivelling assembly, with the manufacturer specifying 180° camera adjustment. Masking functions help exclude unwanted areas from the view. Recordings are stored locally on microSD, and a 16 GB card is included. STEINEL describes operation without a mandatory cloud recording subscription or user account. This does not remove the need for connectivity: remote access depends on a suitable network, an internet connection and a compatible app. Configure the available functions for the actual installation and intended use.
The floodlight uses 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Current article data specify Wi-Fi 4, 5 and 6, WPA2/WPA3, and a connection requirement above 2 Mbit/s. Bluetooth assists with initial setup, while everyday camera communication uses the Wi-Fi network. Check coverage at the intended mounting point outside the building before fixing the bracket. Adjustable basic illumination from 0–40% provides an optional night-time orientation level, while main illumination from 30–100% lets the brighter response to movement be tailored to the space. The twilight threshold is adjustable from 10–10000 lx and the stay-on time from 1–15 minutes.
An IP44 rating, aluminium housing and clear glass cover support outdoor operation when the mounting instructions are followed. Overall dimensions are 167 × 210 × 275 mm. The fitting connects to a 220–240 V mains supply and requires a protective-earth connection. Isolate the power supply before electrical work and use a qualified installer; commissioning should include checking the camera position as well as the lighting. The integrated LED source and control gear are not replaceable. When configuring recording, select the required area and review masked zones to avoid including neighbouring property or public space unnecessarily. STEINEL specifies a three-year manufacturer's warranty, subject to its warranty conditions.
