Product Description
STEINEL Spot DUO S is an anthracite outdoor wall spotlight with two independently aimable heads and two motion sensors. One fitting can illuminate an entrance and adjoining path, or two areas of a courtyard. The light-on time and twilight threshold are adjusted with control dials on the fitting; no phone is needed.
Two directional beams and replaceable lamps
- 1024 lm total light output — 512 lm from each head, with 3000 K warm white light for entrances, terraces and outdoor accents.
- 14.95 W total luminaire input is the value in the current manufacturer V2 datasheet. It is not the wattage of each individual lamp.
- 180° horizontal rotation and 90° vertical tilt allow each head to face the chosen area. The included light sources provide a directional 38° beam.
- Two GU10 LED lamps are included and replaceable. Each socket accepts a GU10 LED lamp up to 9 W. Halogen lamps and an external dimmer must not be used.
How does motion detection work?
Each head has a 90° passive infrared sensor that detects changes in heat caused by movement. Overall coverage depends on the directions in which the two heads point; two sensors do not guarantee a single continuous 180° detection field. Reach is up to 10 m across the sensor field, or approximately 2 m when approaching it directly. For reliable response, position the light across the usual direction of travel.
The recommended mounting height is 2 m, with a maximum of 2.5 m. The sensors require a clear view of the monitored area and do not detect movement through walls or glass.
On-fitting settings and wired interconnection
Control dials set the stay-on time from 8 seconds to 35 minutes and the twilight threshold from 2 to 1000 lx. The sun symbol enables operation independently of ambient brightness, for example when testing detection during the day. Further motion before the selected period expires restarts the timer. After switch-off, there is an approximately one-second pause before detection resumes.
Both heads switch on and off together in the factory configuration. An electrician can configure independent operation in accordance with the manual. Up to 10 lights of this type can be interconnected by cable. The gallery and manufacturer documents include the relevant wiring diagrams.
Installation, construction and package contents
The aluminium housing and IP44 rating suit outdoor installation with protection against splashing water. The transparent covers are plastic. Electrical protection class I requires protective earthing. The fitting mounts on a wall and accepts concealed or surface cable entry using the supplied spacers. Overall dimensions are 175 × 247 × 98 mm — depth, width and height.
The package includes the light with wall bracket, two GU10 LED lamps, four screws, four wall plugs, four spacers and instructions. A corner bracket and remote control are not included. Keep seals clean and undamaged when changing lamps. Clean the housing with a damp cloth without detergents.
CRI 81 describes colour rendering suitable for everyday lighting. The manufacturer specifies LED life of more than 20,000 hours, L70B50 at 25 °C, under the stated conditions. The luminaire has a 3-year manufacturer's warranty under its terms.
Manufacturer data and energy label note
This description uses the current V2 datasheet's total values of 14.95 W and 1024 lm. The shared Spot-series manual still contains earlier power and light-output figures. The manufacturer-linked class F energy label LS-0003 / EPREL 715074, rated 7 kWh/1000 h, applies to one replaceable light source, not the entire two-head luminaire. Standby figures in the attributes come from the shared manual and are not separately restated in the current V2 table.
