Product Description
STEINEL DL Vario Quattro PRO S is a white LED ceiling light with four PIR sensors for indoor and outdoor use. It suits corridors, stairwells, ancillary rooms and covered entrance areas. Article 068202 has a fixed 3000 K colour temperature; it is not switchable.
3000 K light in a shallow fitting
The integrated 14 W LED delivers 1430 lm of warm-white light with an efficacy of 102 lm/W. 3000 K suits spaces where a warm, welcoming appearance is wanted. A white plastic housing and textured plastic diffuser form a compact Ø310 × 69 mm fitting. CRI/Ra 82 describes colour rendering, and SDCM3 indicates consistent white-light colour.
Four individually adjustable detection zones
Four 90° PIR sectors provide combined 360° coverage. A separate control adjusts each sector's reach from 2 to 8 m, allowing detection towards a road to be reduced while maintaining coverage along an entrance path. The data sheet specifies coverage of up to 16 × 16 m across the detection zone and a 4 × 4 m reference area for radial approach. Actual coverage depends on mounting height, movement direction and settings; the manual provides detailed examples.
The recommended mounting height is 2.8 m, with a maximum of 6 m. PIR sensors detect changes in heat and do not work through walls or glass. The manufacturer advises against installing these lights directly above one another on multiple storeys.
Basic light level and everyday settings
The stay-on time adjusts from 5 seconds to 30 minutes, and the twilight threshold from 2 to 1000 lx. Each newly detected movement restarts the timer. Optional 10% basic lighting maintains orientation light in darkness for 10 or 30 minutes after the main lighting period, or throughout the night. It can also be disabled. In basic-light mode, the light briefly switches off every hour to measure ambient brightness.
Soft light start and a 4-hour manual override activated through an external wall switch are available. Settings are made using controls on the fitting; no Bluetooth or app is required.
Wired interconnection and additional loads
Up to 10 lights in this series can be interconnected by cable according to the manufacturer's diagram. The L′ relay output can switch additional lighting or another suitable load. 500 W is the resistive-load switching limit, not the fitting's power consumption. LED loads have lower limits: 16 W total for individual LED lamps below 2 W, or 64 W for the manufacturer's higher-power LED groups. The relay is disabled at the factory and must be enabled to operate an external load.
Protection and service life
IP54 protects against harmful dust ingress and splashing water; IK07 indicates impact resistance. The fitting has protection class II, an operating temperature of −20 to +35 °C and a 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz supply. The LED module and control gear are not replaceable; no separate bulb is required. The manufacturer specifies more than 60,000 h L70B50 at 25 °C: at this assessment threshold, half the light sources retain at least 70% of their initial output. Light-source energy efficiency class D. Net weight: 0.890 kg. The manufacturer provides a 5-year warranty under its terms.
