Product Description
STEINEL RS PRO R20 Q plus SC is a square LED wall and ceiling light with concealed motion detection. Its white housing, rounded corners and opal polycarbonate cover create a restrained, evenly illuminated surface for corridors, stairwells and other indoor circulation areas. The plus version adds rear Backlight illumination around the fitting. Lighting the adjacent wall or ceiling creates a softer transition between the luminaire and its surroundings, particularly on stair landings.
A light colour for everyday surroundings
15.86 W and 1970 lm are combined with a fixed 4000 K colour temperature. The neutral white tone suits clearly illuminated corridors, changing rooms and ancillary spaces, where everyday orientation and an evenly lit environment matter. CRI 82 describes colour rendering, while SDCM 3 indicates initial colour consistency. The 3000 K model is a separate article, not a selectable colour setting on this fitting. For this plus version, the stated flux is measured with the backlight switched off.
Detection adapted to the space
The 360° high-frequency sensor detects movement over an area up to 10 m in diameter; electronic adjustment reduces this to a diameter of 1 m. Operating at 5.8 GHz, it may also detect movement through glass, wood and lightweight partitions. Supplied shrouds restrict unwanted directions. Set the initial sensitivity to suit the corridor, doorways and adjoining rooms, then check the response at the actual installation position.
Coordinated lighting without extra control wiring
The STEINEL Connect app and Bluetooth Mesh configure compatible lights and link them into groups. The neighbouring-group function prepares lighting in the next area according to the selected settings, while detection reach can remain individual for each fitting. Standalone operation is also possible. Configuration requires a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet; the luminaire itself receives power from the mains.
This article offers a 5-second to 60-minute main-light timer and a 1–60-minute basic-light timer. New detected movement restarts the main timer. Main and basic brightness are adjustable over 0–100%; the 2–2000 lux threshold and Teach function help match switching to available daylight. An adjustable 1–3-second fade smooths changes in brightness. Backlight can be enabled or disabled in the app settings.

Installation and future options
The light is intended for indoor surface mounting on a wall or ceiling. Its current data sheet states 300 × 300 × 52 mm, while the manufacturer drawing shows a 55 mm depth; use the drawing when planning installation space. Maximum mounting height is 4 m. The instructions require at least 3 m clearance from Wi-Fi routers and unobstructed ventilation slots. IP40 provides no water protection; IK07 describes impact resistance and Class II means double or reinforced insulation.
An optional emergency module 064143, purchased separately, provides three-hour emergency lighting. Connection to a suitable central battery system is another option: on 186–250 V DC, the light operates at 100% output with its sensor deactivated. This standard package does not include an emergency battery. Follow the supplied instructions for wiring and system configuration. The LED source and driver cannot be replaced, and an external mains dimmer must not be used. The manufacturer specifies a 5-year warranty, subject to STEINEL terms.
