Product Description
STEINEL IR Micro Office 6m DALI-2 APC is a white recessed ceiling presence detector for controlling the lighting in a small office or an individual room. It combines motion detection, measurement of room brightness and a DALI lighting controller in one device. The sensor helps maintain a selected lighting level at the workstation and reduce unnecessary illumination after occupants leave. It also suits meeting rooms, staff rooms, recreation rooms and ancillary spaces. The white RAL 9003 plastic trim integrates with light ceilings, while its 15 ×15 mm precision lens keeps the visible sensor compact. Article 067144 is the recessed ceiling version of this product.
Passive infrared technology, or PIR, responds to changes caused by moving sources of heat. Detection covers 360°, with a square pattern across the floor. At the optimum mounting height of 2.8 m, tangential movement coverage reaches 6 ×6 m or 36 m², while radial movement and presence coverage measure 4 ×4 m or 16 m². Small movements at a desk should be assessed against the presence area rather than the maximum walking area. Installation is permitted at heights of 2–5 m; mounting height and obstructions affect practical coverage. Keep the monitored workstation within the sensor’s clear view, because tall furniture and partitions can hide an occupied position.
Its integrated DALI-2 APC single-master application controller operates up to 20 DALI devices in broadcast mode. Connected luminaires receive common commands, making this arrangement suitable for a single room lighting group. A separate external DALI application controller is unnecessary for this function, but the luminaires or their drivers must support DALI. The sensor itself requires a 220–240 V,50–60 Hz mains supply. It has no local 230 V load relay, and the DALI control terminals do not provide direct lamp power. Adding another single-master controller to the same line requires an explicitly compatible system design.
Constant-light control uses measured room brightness to adjust artificial lighting as daylight changes. Supported functions include 0–100% main-light adjustment, basic lighting and fully automatic or semi-automatic operation. The brightness threshold is 2–1000 lx and the stay-on time is 5 seconds–60 minutes. Setup and wireless networking use the STEINEL Connect app and Bluetooth Mesh. Supported settings also cover lighting scenes, switch-on and switch-off fading, and neighbouring-group behaviour. An external pushbutton input provides manual override; there is no user lighting pushbutton on the detector’s visible face. Wireless pushbuttons and other control accessories are separate purchases and should be selected for the intended installation.
Allow space for the Ø85 ×69 mm housing and wiring above the ceiling surface. This is an indoor device with IP 20 protection, so its location must avoid direct exposure to water. Shrouds allow unwanted portions of the detection area to be covered mechanically. Commissioning should check entry into the room, presence at the desk, daylight response and the selected delay. It is also useful to test manual override and basic lighting before putting the installation into daily use. Clean the lens with a damp cloth without harsh cleaning agents. STEINEL specifies a five-year manufacturer’s warranty for this Professional Line device, subject to its applicable warranty terms.
