A taller lighting accent for the approach to your home
STEINEL GL 85 SC 900 combines a 90 cm bollard format with automatic motion sensing. Its slim anthracite aluminium body and cubic outline complement contemporary paving, terraces and house entrances. Choose this taller version when the luminaire should also be a visible part of the landscape design. A series of matching bollards can give a path or courtyard a consistent appearance while defining the route outdoors.
The integrated LED system provides 655 lm at 9 W in a 3000 K warm-white colour. The warm tone suits entrances and terraces. An opal cover creates an evenly illuminated surface, with soft start bringing the light on gradually rather than abruptly.
Hidden sensing and flexible connected lighting
The concealed 160° iHF motion sensor keeps the clean exterior free from a projecting detector lens. Its detection distance can be adjusted between 1 and 5 metres to suit the relevant approach area. Consider the usual approach directions when positioning the bollard, then check the chosen settings with a practical walk-through after installation.
Settings are available through Bluetooth Mesh and the STEINEL Connect app, which also allow compatible luminaires to work together. Adjustable main lighting, basic lighting and the neighbouring-group function give you options for organising several sections of a path. In a garden with more than one entrance, plan sensor locations around those approach points and arrange the lighting groups to match the routes used most often.
Plan the mounting base and power supply
The IP44-rated bollard is intended for permanent outdoor installation on a stable surface. Every luminaire requires a 220–240 V mains connection with protective earth. Bluetooth handles wireless communication between compatible products, while the power supply still needs a cable. The integrated LED source is non-replaceable and does not use a separate replaceable bulb. A qualified professional should complete the electrical installation in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
