A compact bollard for welcoming paths
STEINEL GL 85 SC 600 brings automatic lighting to the route between your gate, front door and terrace. Its 60 cm height suits a garden layout where a low, clearly defined lighting element is preferred. The anthracite aluminium body has a simple cubic shape that works naturally beside contemporary paving and planting. Use one at an approach point or plan a row of matching bollards to give the outdoor space a consistent appearance.
The integrated LED system delivers 655 lm from 9 W in a 3000 K warm-white colour. This makes it an attractive choice for a residential entrance where the lighting should feel welcoming in the evening. An opal cover creates a softly lit surface, while the soft-start function brings the light on gradually.
Concealed sensing with practical control
A hidden 160° iHF motion sensor keeps the exterior free from a visible sensor lens. Detection can be adjusted between 1 and 5 metres, helping you focus operation on the relevant section of the approach. When planning the position, consider how people enter the garden and check the final settings by walking through the area after installation.
Bluetooth Mesh and the STEINEL Connect app provide access to settings and allow compatible luminaires to work together. Adjustable main lighting, basic lighting and the neighbouring-group function offer flexibility when planning several sections of a path. You can build a coordinated arrangement around the way the outdoor space is actually used, with sensor positions chosen for its main approach points.
A permanent outdoor lighting installation
The IP44-rated luminaire requires a stable mounting surface and a 220–240 V mains connection with protective earth. Wireless communication handles the control signals; every bollard still needs its own power supply connection. The integrated LED source is non-replaceable, so there is no separate bulb to select. Have the electrical installation completed by a qualified professional.
